Itinerary
Day 1 - July 27 Arrive in Cairo

Travel to Cairo, Egypt and get settled in at our 5-star hotel. As night settles we gather together as a group for the first time at our welcome dinner.

Day 2 -July 28 Explore Cairo

Step into the heart of ancient civilization with an unforgettable day in Cairo, where history rises from the desert sands. Stand in awe before the legendary

Great Pyramid of Giza—the last surviving Wonder of the Ancient World and a 4,500-year-old architectural masterpiece. Marvel at the mysterious Great Sphinx of Giza, a colossal guardian carved from a single block of limestone, whose enigmatic smile has fascinated visitors for millennia.

Continue your journey through time at the world-renowned Egyptian Museum, home to over 120,000 artifacts, including the dazzling treasures of Tutankhamun and intricately preserved royal mummies. From towering monuments to priceless antiquities, this immersive tour brings the grandeur, mystery, and timeless legacy of ancient Egypt vividly to life—all in one extraordinary day.

Day 3 - July 29 Old Town

Wander through the atmospheric streets of Cairo as we explore the city’s enchanting Old Town, where centuries of faith, culture, and architecture stand side by side. In Coptic Cairo, discover some of the oldest Christian landmarks in the Middle East, including the remarkable Hanging Church, suspended above ancient Roman fortress gates, and the revered Church of St. Sergius and Bacchus, believed to be built over a cave where the Holy Family once sought refuge.

Continue into the vibrant Islamic Quarter, where the skyline is crowned by elegant minarets and grand mosques. Stroll along the historic lanes of Khan el-Khalili, a bustling 14th-century bazaar filled with spices, lanterns, and handcrafted treasures, and admire the stunning architecture of Al-Muizz Street, often described as one of the greatest open-air museums of Islamic art in the world. This journey through Old Cairo offers a captivating glimpse into the spiritual and cultural heart of Egypt, where every corner tells a story centuries in the making.

Day 4 - July 30 Fly to Aswan

After breakfast at your hotel in Cairo, we transfer to the airport for a short flight south to Aswan, gateway to the timeless beauty of the Nile. Upon arrival, you’ll board your elegant dahabiya—a graceful, wind-powered sailing vessel inspired by the private river yachts of 19th-century travelers—and meet your welcoming crew. With spacious cabins and panoramic decks, your dahabiya offers an intimate and unhurried way to experience the river.

As we set sail along the legendary Nile—the lifeblood of Egypt for over 5,000 years—lunch is served on deck while golden desert hills and lush riverbanks drift past. By afternoon, we arrive at the remarkable Temple of Kom Ombo, dramatically positioned on a sweeping bend of the river, which we will visit in the morning.

As the day gently fades and stars rise, dinner is served, with the tranquil sounds of the Nile as your backdrop. Enjoy your first overnight on board, surrounded by the serenity and timeless rhythm of Egypt’s great river.

Day 5 - July 31 Temples of the Nile

After breakfast we will experience an early morning visit to the Temple of Kom Ombo.

This unique double temple, built during the Ptolemaic period (180–47 BC) on the foundations of an even older sanctuary, is perfectly symmetrical—one side dedicated to Sobek, the crocodile-headed god of fertility and the Nile, and the other to Horus the Elder, the falcon-headed god associated with kingship and the morning sun. Inside, you’ll see finely carved reliefs, including one of the earliest known depictions of surgical instruments. Nearby, mummified crocodiles discovered in the area are displayed in a small museum, a testament to the powerful cult of Sobek that once thrived here.

Afterward will have a leisurely afternoon with time to relax and enjoy the amenities of the ship as the shores of the Nile coastline glide by.

Day 6 - Aug 1 Gabal el Silsila and the Sandstone Quarries

Enjoy breakfast on deck as we sail toward the remarkable Gebel el-Silsila, a dramatic stretch of sandstone cliffs that once supplied the building blocks for many of ancient Egypt’s greatest monuments.

For over a thousand years, pharaohs quarried stone here for temples across the land—including those at Karnak and Luxor. As you explore, you’ll see ancient chisel marks still etched into the rock, rock-cut chapels dedicated to Nile deities, and stelae left behind by workers and officials who once lived and labored at this vital industrial hub of the New Kingdom.

The rest of the day is at your leisure, with all meals included on board.

Day 7 -Aug 2 Eclipse on the River

Today is the day we’ve all been waiting for, the eclipse of the century. As the moon gradually glides across the face of the sun, the golden light of Egypt will soften into an otherworldly twilight. Birds grow quiet, the air cools, and anticipation builds. Then, during the unforgettable moments of totality, the sun’s luminous corona bursts into view—a radiant halo visible only during a total eclipse. For centuries, civilizations have marveled at these celestial alignments; experiencing one from the timeless waters of the Nile is nothing short of extraordinary.

Following this once-in-a-lifetime event, we will head towards Edfu, watching the Nile reawaken with scenes of rural life along its banks. On arrival, we visit the magnificent Temple of Edfu, dedicated to Horus, the falcon-headed god of kingship and protection. Built between 237 and 57 BC during the Greco-Roman (Ptolemaic) period, this is one of the best-preserved temples in all of Egypt. Its towering 36-meter-high pylon, vast courtyard, and remarkably intact sanctuaries allow visitors to experience a temple almost exactly as it stood over 2,000 years ago. Intricate wall carvings depict the dramatic mythological battle between Horus and Seth, as well as detailed inscriptions that have provided historians with invaluable insight into ancient rituals and temple life.

Day 8 - Aug 3 Temple of Esna

Enjoy a peaceful morning visit to the Temple of Esna, just south of Luxor. As you descend below modern street level, you step back into the Greco-Roman era at this beautifully preserved sanctuary dedicated to the ram-headed god Khnum. The highlight of the temple is its impressive hypostyle hall, supported by 24 towering columns crowned with uniquely carved floral capitals. Morning light gently reveals the vivid reliefs, detailed hieroglyphs, and colorful astronomical ceiling featuring zodiac signs and celestial scenes. Scenes carved on the walls show Roman emperors presenting offerings to Egyptian deities, blending two great civilizations in stone.

After lunch, we will check out of the cruise and transfer to the Luxor airport for our return flight to Cairo. Upon arrival, you will be escorted to your hotel for an overnight stay, giving you time to relax and reflect on the remarkable journey—from ancient temples and riverside villages to one of the universe’s most breathtaking natural phenomena.

Day 9 - Aug 4 Farewell

Breakfast included at the hotel. Transfer included for your international flights back home.
